Middle School Admissions Updates
The middle school application is now open! While a student's application loads, there might be a delay in displaying your child's middle school choices. Don’t worry, this will refresh shortly! Thank you for your patience.
The updated Fall 2025 Middle School Admissions Timeline:
- October 15, 2024: Middle School Application Opens (after school hours)
- November 8, 2024: Deadline to register to test for Mark Twain I.S. 239 (21K239) and District 21 Talent Tests
- December 20, 2024: Middle School Application Closes
- April 9, 2025: Middle School Offer Release
Changes to Fall 2025 Admissions
- Families can now list any New York City public middle school on their application!
- Zoned schools will continue to prioritize zoned students for seats.
- Most programs will also have a district priority, which means that seats will first be filled by students and residents of the district.
- If seats remain, students and residents from other districts will be considered.
- A strong middle school application:
- Includes programs in the district(s) where your child lives or goes to school.
- Includes some programs with an average level of demand (1-2 applicants per seat)
