The Ambassadors for Peace Scholars

In partnership with Borough President Vito Fossella, Pastor Dave Beidel at Urban Hope, the SIEDC, restaurateur- Joe Territo and our Acting Superintendent, Dr. Roderick Palton all parts of the Staten Island community came together to support a new initiative, the Ambassadors for Peace Scholars at IS 27, IS 49 and IS 61 to empower students and families with the tools and resources to build peace and hope in their schools and neighborhoods. Faith-based leaders, NYCPS staff, elected officials and private sector business leaders will be working with 21 students in each middle school to share a meal and deliver access and material resources for student to use and share with their families and peers while fostering leadership skills among the students as they prepare for the next steps in their lives and the neighborhoods.
